Texas Broadband Community Services & Projects

Hurricane Katrina Relief

During the large evacuation of New Orleans, many refuges came to Brenham to wait out the storm and flood waters.  Because of the rapid evacuating, many families had no way to communicate on the status of loved ones.  Texas Broadband volunteered to supply internet and equipment to the red cross relief center.  This service was very valuable in keeping families in communication with others and for delivering news to the refugees. Texas Broadband has always prided itself in helping the communities that it serves.

Brenham WiFi Project

Texas Broadband has contributed to several community projects.  Currently, Texas Broadband is supplying free high speed internet in the downtown Brenham area.  By partnering with The City of Brenham, Defacto Wireless and AirMatrix, Texas Broadband has created a free Mesh Network for internet users in the downtown area.  This service is intended and designed to deliver free internet to guest of the downtown area and has proven to be a very useful tool for citizens and visitors alike.

Extreme Home Makeover Edition

Texas Broad also supplied internet to the Extreme Home Makeover Edition in the Washington, Texas area.  The internet was used by the building & production crew during the filming of the television show.  The rural job site was not serviced by conventional high-speed internet services such as DSL or Cable, but is covered by Texas Broadband Internet, one of Central Texas largest Wireless ISPs.  (read more)
